Greetings! Thanks for taking the time to visit the site and learning a bit about my story. Education wise, I completed an Associate of Arts Degree from Douglas College, a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Simon Fraser University, and a Master of Arts in counselling psychology from Yorkville University.  I’m a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. My dad, who works as a psychologist, once said: school can help provide the theory but the real learning occurs when you work with clients-  he was definitely right! He encouraged me to get out there and work in different capacities and always continue to learn. The journey took me to community agency, school and government programs as I had the privilege to work with an eclectic group of clients.  Currently I work in private practice at Denis Boyd & Associates

Finding creative ways to help facilitate positive change in people’s lives has always been a passion.  In 2018 I teamed up with 3 fellow therapists (Brooke, Ryan and my sister Joanna) and a team of programmers (led by Sergey) to create an online wellness boosting program called the Mental Health Boot Camp.  We also created a therapeutic goal focused app called Follow Thru.

Psychology aside I co-founded the Original Ugly Christmas Sweater Party with my friend Jordan, an annual charity event in Vancouver that is credited as starting the 'ugly Christmas sweater' trend that spanned the globe. Over the years we added a family friendly 5km Dash as an event along with Ugly Christmas Sweater Day that was proclaimed official by the City of Vancouver and Province of B.C. The events have raised over $225,000 for various charities since 2002. Our latest project has been to write a children’s book called: The Ugly Christmas Sweater Rebellion.

I’m a member the Rotary Club of Coquitlam- a fantastic charitable organization that has provided opportunities to volunteer and connect. I’m currently the co-vice president of the Alumni Association at my old high school, St. Thomas More Collegiate. On my spare time I appreciate foliage, sunsets, and football.
